Abstract: Polymeric materials are combustible in nature and poly(Vinyl Choride)is no exception.Due to its hig chlorine contents it is relatively flame retardant,however because of the processing aids such as plasticizer etc.this advantage ic lost.During burning the two main hazards of PVC are Hydrogen chloride gas and copious amount of smoke.
